When my children grow up.....

This question does pop up in my mind every now and then - "What do I want to be when my children grow up?" One asks children this similar question - "What do you want to be when you grow up?" So, looks like I am back to a child!!

Alden's 1st time to the zoo

Beverly invited me to join in her mummies' club zoo trip yesterday so I went along with Alden. I guess he was bewildered by the new green environment. He only has this "what's this look?" on his face when he saw the animals (pony, monkeys, chimpanzees, white tigers, rhinocerous, crocodiles, flamingoes) except for the parrots, huge beetles and scorpion where he was very excited. Mother Nature spoilt some of the fun as it had rained heavily. He enjoyed the ball room, water fountain and swing area best. Cried pretty hard when I had to pull him out of these places. Beverly is a nice lady and Ryan is very likeable and easy to care for. Lucky her!

Would like to bring her to St Francis Kindergarten to help her search for a good school for Ryan. Maybe Monday would be a good day to do so.

Met Joere, Sophie, Yani all in a day!

So happy for Joere as she has gotten her wish to be pregnant in the year of Pig. She made it!
After GUG, I met up with Sophie and Yani and Mohamad of course, in Kinokuniya. Mohamed is so well-behaved, so lovely a boy. Sophie opened up more today without her son around. Her husband prefers to be based in H.K. so there is a high chance of them to be posted there again. This Friday, they will be off to Langkawi for a holiday. Yani recommended some cereals for Alden to try as it works well for Mohamed. Unbelievably, Alden slept for 2 solid hours in his stroller during our time in Takashimaya. Not to forget to mention, I purchased 3 books for Alden. Happy Reading Time!

Received a present for Alden from Sarah. So sweet of her! Thank you :-)

What a pink sapphire leads to.....

May is flying back to Germany this Sat so I brought Alden to Parkway Parade to meet her and her mum. She is in search of online Java courses. I had helped her to flip ST ads but could not find any. I noticed a huge (like 3 carats) pink sapphire ring on her finger and fell in love with it. It is a gift from her mil (so nice!). So before I left PP, I tried to find for a similar one but to no avail. Indeed. May says it's hard to find in SG. Very true so in the end, I settled for a man-made zirconia stone. The shop owner who sold it to me said that if you are fated to own the stone, the stone will find you! Indeed, it's hard to come by for stones one love, just like love itself!

In between, I had brought Alden to view MyGym which is located opposite to NTUC. It has a similar outlook like Gymboree. But no trials today as it is set-up day cos they change their setting every week. A trip to the library was made as well. It is our first trip to this library and boy! I love this library. Lucky for those who stay nearby like May!

Forgot to mention that I had bought a Mickey Mouse bag for Alden for his half-day childcare which is commencing in May. I got news that he will be having a French girl classmate. So, his class is full as quota of 6 toddlers is met!

It was like 11.30pm before Alden decided to sleep. He really tired everybody out with his hyperactivity and attention needy. Lucky I was in a good mood haha since I got myself a nice ring so I was the last one who put him to sleep after many story books, nursery rhymes and playing around. What a day it was!

My folly?

A lot of fiasco occurred in the night. Of all nights, it had to be tonight when in the early morning before dawn breaks, hubby has to fly for work. It all occured after I switched off the aircon as felt slightly cold. Alden started to fidget in his sarong so I thought he wanted milk. However after his milk, he does not want to go back to sleep. I shifted him to places, from floor mattress to bed to sarong in our room to his cot in his own room. Nothing works! Anger got the better of me and I decided to let him cry it out in his own room behind shut doors. Not long after, mil came in to interfere. Despite me switching on the aircon, she brought Alden downstairs to sleep in the sarong. I was fuming mad so mad that I drove out to have a piece of prata and teh tarik at Rosyth. By the time, I came back, she has managed to shake him to sleep. The clock read 4.30am. Hubby's turn to wake up and get ready to go airport. Mil made him a warm bottle of chicken essence and reminded him about bringing passport. Oh why is she so considerate and why must I be the one to lose my cool? On the hindsight, it's the drastic change in temperature that had prevented Alden from falling asleep again. It goes to show how sensitive a child he is. While he was in his own room, he kept pointing to go back to our room. Once back in our room, he still could not sleep. At that point, I should have switched the aircon again as it is the culprit that caused all this fiasco. So, my folly? Another black Monday to start the week with!!

What a coincidence!

My inlaws are in Genting so I had the liberty of driving Alden to class. Since I had the liberty to do so, I went there early to have lunch at Nara Restaurant as I miss their sashimi. I had Alden and myself seated pretty and placed my order. Out of the blue, a very familiar face appeared besides Alden. It's PAPA. Oh! Oh! Papa had just walked in with his bosses and customers for lunch and out of places, they chose the same restaurant as moi. We had a good laugh and could not stop talking about it till night fall. Indeed, it's my first time having lunch there myself as I have never the time to do so since Alden's class time is right smack in lunchtime and after class, Nara is closed for business till dinner time.

Anyway after class, I was scratching my head as to how to burn Alden's hyperactivity when Jda invited me to her place for jacuzzi, Bingo! Immediately , I accepted her invitation. It was great at her place as Alden had enjoyed himself. Initially, he was afraid of the noises made by the jacuzzi so Jda switched off the jacuzzi. After staying in the pool for sometime, she switched it back and this time, Alden is comfortable with the jacuzzi. And to add, Jda made great coffee!

After we came back from Jda's place, I cooked porridge for him which he consumed quite a lot. Happy! It was 9pm when hubby came back and we had dinner at the coffeeshop near his brother's place. Good choice! We had what we wanted. Alden was so tired that he slept in my arms while having his milk. Luckily, he drank much of it. Happy again as we are left to enjoy our American Idol show...haha!
