It could be ...

It's 22 weeks 5 days preggo days now. I could only light sleep like 4 hours. It could be the tandoori curry at Blady's Restaurant yesterday in Kawagoe that is keeping me awake. The chicken was not well cooked and they had recooked it! Luckily, I had not taken a bite at it yet before the big discovery. It could be the Jasmine tea that I had drank that is keeping me awake. It could be worrisome thoughts of dh finding a job back home eventually that is keeping me awake. It could be the continuous 5 hours' of walk yesterday. It could be not being able to find out baby's gender as the gynae had not granted me a scan at 20 weeks' visit. It could be the combination of these 5 that had kept me awake! The images of the stone monks that I had seen in the temple swirled in my mind as I drifted in and out of sleep. The blessed thing is we managed to have a great tonkatsu lunch at our favourite place. Guess it could be our last time there.

I pray my baby is healthy and fine. Dad, mum and sis called last night thinking we had found out about gender. But they got the obvious response from me. In-laws may be fetching us from airport that wee morning hours when we reach home.

21 weeks preggo!

I made appointments via phone to the hair stylist, gynaecologist and beautician in view of our coming SG trip in 13 days. I am supposed to do good packing for what to bring back to SG to lighten our eventual load. The gynae trip would determine where we would want to deliver baby when due date. Hence far, we are not so comfortable with our Japanese gynae due to culture difference. The gynae here are like Kings, cannot ask too many questions and generally slow in many areas.

Baby is pretty active in my tummy these days which is normal. At 21 weeks, I have gained 8kgs.

Fireflies viewing - Hotaru viewing

It was an invitation by Xiao Nan to watch fireflies with her hubby and friend last night at Shin-Takashimadaira. First time seeing her husband who is really happy to know that they are expecting a baby boy. DH and I went along. Nothing new to DH as he has watched many a times. He had seen those with blue lights, green lights. But it was my first time and I love the viewing. The fireflies were bustling with yellow lights in the dark. Their life span is a mere 10 days. A wonderful experience!

We had dinner together all 5 of us at a Chinese restaurant. It was my 2nd time having a meal with Xiao Nan together. The first time we had udon at Ajiminge. This Mon would mark our last maternity lesson at the ward office. Should be interesting as we would be taught how to bath and feed our babies.

18 June 2005

20 weeks 3 days - our gynae appointment. Went with some hopes of finding out gender but no ultrasound scan done so hopes dashed! Well, well, welcome to Japan where the gynae is King. No requests entertained. Dh was as pissed as me.

FIrst kicks

Baby's kicks are getting more obvious these few days. In fact, keeping my sleep light by continuous turns in my tummy. The rainy season is showing. I have informed some friends about our July's trip. The prayers in my heart get stronger each day.

Janice is going for a surgery due to her ectopic pregnancy. I hope she will recover soon and well for a good pregnancy next. I believe she will get through this as she is strong.

I have put on 2 kg during 16 week to 19 week pregnancy pushing over the weight gain limit for this period. Must do something about it before my next gynae's appointment in 2 weeks' time.

Cooked bird nest's soup given by parents. Really appreciate their caring gift. So healing when drinking it.

Attending 3 baby preparation classes this month.

Invitation

Yesterday, my Filipino friend, messaged me and invited me to her house. It's been like 1 month ago since I last visited her and baby Kana. Would get some fruits there (^.^). It's good to be out of the house as I have been cooping inside for the past 2 days due to rains.

It's first day of June and I am officially 18 weeks pregnant. 2 more weeks and we shall know baby's gender! I am so excited. I am not sure what in-laws and parents want. Hubby and I are ok with both.

We will be back to SG for a short trip in early July. Can't wait to see dad and mum and inlaws again!
